About me...Thank you for checking out who I am on the web! The following is the speech that I presented at my ordination as an Interfaith Minister. I believe that it captures the essence of who I am. "Thank you to all of you for coming tonight. It is with great love and gratitude that I thank you for the love and support you have given to me during the last 2 years. Especially for your prayers, your concerns and your interest in what I was doing. When I began my serious quest for truth some years gao, I found that there was no one tradition that held all of the truths -- they all hold a piece of this vast truth that is the God that I long for. So, two years ago, I chose not a main seminary school but an Interfaith school. I cherish the diversity from tradition to tradition and believe that in the end all lead to the top of the same mountain, to that one true entity, Love. My path is diverse, open and constantly changing. Even as a small child, I got into my share of trouble for going outside the lines of norm. For not following the straight and narrow but exploring the squiggles -- always exploring beyond the limits, looking for what else, what next. I never really felt Christian and honored my Judaic root and found great inner peace in Hinduism, Buddhism and Sufism. Many have asked me what I plan to do now that I am an ordained Interfaith Minister... I hope to celebrate liturgy each day by celebrating life itself. May the candle inside remind you always that the spark of the divine dwells within each of us. It is our responsibility to ignite that spark, to ignite the fire within so that it becomes a raging inferno within, forever spreading peace, love and joy to all." |
